Chapter 1 Resources

Resources:-Anything that is needed to satisfy a need is a resource.

Utility:-It is something that makes an object or substance a resource.

Value:-All resources have some value. Value means worth.

Types of resources:-

1.Natural resources:-Resources that are drawn from nature and used without modification are called natural resources.

Natural resources are classified into two types:-

Renewable:-Resources that gets renewed quickly are renewable resources.

Non renewable:-Resources that have a limited stock and takes thousands of years to get renewed are non renewable resources.

2.Human made resources:-Resources made by proples are called human made resources.

3.Human resources:-Peoples themselves are human resources.

Resources conservation:-Using resources carefully and giving them time to get renewed is called resource conservation.

Sustainable development:-Balancing the needs to use resources and also conserve them for the future is called Sustainable development.
